Our Mission
What is Intersections?
Intersections is a student-led digital journal of the First Year Writing Program in the Department of Core Studies at St. John's University. Our journal’s primary aim is to publish and showcase outstanding student compositions, audio/visual work, and artwork from First Year Writing courses each academic year.
WHO ARE WE?

Intersections’s editorial board is made up of devoted St. John's students who have an interest in writing, publishing, and designing. The editorial board is open to all students who would like to participate in the process of putting together a journal including the reading and selecting of work, the editing of the work, and the design of the website.

WHAT IS OUR VISION?
Intersections provides opportunities for students to be published and/or have experience on a publication board early on in their academic careers. Intersections is hard evidence of FYW’s celebration of our school’s plurality of social and cultural identities, our Englishes, our voices, our vernaculars, and above all, our stories.
WHY ARE WE DIFFERENT?
In academia, publication of undergraduate work is often limited to that of juniors and seniors. Intersections provides a welcome opportunity for early college students to publish their work.
